What is Masonry Veneer?
Masonry veneer is a non-structural, single-layer cladding system designed to replicate the appearance of traditional brick or stone construction.
Made from thin brick, natural stone, or manufactured stone, it attaches to a structural backup wall and is typically separated by an air space, allowing for effective drainage and thermal insulation.
There are two main types of masonry veneer systems:
Adhered Veneer – Lightweight units are directly bonded to the substrate using mortar or adhesive.
Anchored Veneer – Thicker units are mechanically attached with ties or anchors, with an integrated air gap for enhanced drainage and ventilation.
This system delivers the timeless look of masonry with greater design flexibility, reduced structural load, and improved moisture management.
